Located in the former Zachy’s Wine & Liquor in Scarsdale Village, One Rare Italian Steakhouse is a delicious but pricey dining experience with an impressive reputation, despite being relatively new. The second you enter, you can already tell by the environment that the restaurant is geared toward wealthy Scarsdale residents. While the restaurant is welcoming to families, the pricey menu and formal atmosphere certainly make it better suited for more special occasions.
Food: Great
While all the food I had was good, the filet mignon stood out the most. It was perfectly cooked and actually melted in my mouth — one of the best steaks I have had. The sides were solid, but did not blow me away. The complementary bread was great.
Service: Very Good
Workers were quick to serve food, fill up glasses, allow courses to come out at a nice pace, and were genuinely knowledgeable about what they served. They were even able to satisfy my very picky family, which is a great compliment!
Ambiance: Somewhat Underwhelming
This aspect of the restaurant was the only letdown. For a restaurant that gets so much praise for its great food and charges such high prices, I expected the atmosphere to feel more like a steakhouse than an event space. It's nice and comfortable, but it lacks warmth or that classic steakhouse feel.
Pricing: $$$$
You may need a second mortgage – just kidding. But One Rare is not cheap. Everything costs what you would expect with upscale dining in Scarsdale.

4.4/5 Stars
Overall, I believe that One Rare Italian Steakhouse is worth visiting if you're looking for a high-end and delicious dinner in Scarsdale. If you're a steak lover or celebrating a special occasion, this is especially a great spot. Also, make sure to visit their second restaurant in Scarsdale Village, The Press, for gourmet sandwiches.
