Piccolino, DeCicco & Son's New High-End Supermarket, Is Opening In Scarsdale Village Later This Year. Read About It Below.
The moment Scarsdale has been waiting for... Piccolino by DeCicco’s & Sons is coming later this year! Unlike the former DeCicco's grocery store that occupied the space on East Pkwy for decades, or like the DeCicco & Sons in Eastchester, this will be a boujee "concept" market. The word Piccolino in Italian actually translates to "little one."
According to the company, the goal is to “reimagine what a neighborhood market could be,” offering their customers carefully selected products. The emphasis is on convenience without sacrificing nutrition, freshness, or taste.
In a March 11 article from Westchester Magazine, they report that Piccolino will focus on a tightly curated selection of items, including prepared foods, fresh produce, a meat department, and a tonic bar, along with grab-and-go meals. The layout has not yet been fully revealed, but the concept is expected to feel more like a boutique food hall than a traditional grocery store. Honestly, a perfect location close to wealthy Scarsdale residents.
DeCicco & Sons is a longtime Westchester staple and has built a positive reputation over more than 50 years as a family-owned grocery chain. The company currently has multiple locations across Westchester in Ardsley, Armonk, Bedford, Eastchester, Harrison, Larchmont, Millwood, Pelham, Sleepy Hollow, and Somers.
Piccolino also continues a local DeCicco presence in Scarsdale. The space previously housed a supermarket known as DeCicco Family Markets until late 2024, which is a completely separate brand from a different part of the family.
As Piccolino prepares to open its doors at some point in 2026 (it has not officially been announced as of June 12), there is no doubt that it will fit seamlessly into Scarsdale’s community. It will offer residents, especially the elderly living nearby, a convenient option for high-quality groceries and prepared meals.
Given DeCicco & Sons’ long-standing reputation in Westchester, Piccolino will likely continue that tradition of serving their Westchester community, but this time in a "different" way.
