FARMERS MARKET REVIEW:
Pleasantville Farmers Market
Is the Pleasantville Farmers Market The Best In Westchester?
For the third farmers market review, I visited the Pleasantville Farmers Market in Pleasantville, NY. This market runs each Saturday morning all year round. It is located at 10 Memorial Plaza in the Metro North Station Parking Lot.
Variety of Food Options: 9/10
The market had a nice variety of fresh produce, cheeses, and specialty goods, as well as some hot food and pastries.
Size of Market: 10/10
This market is medium to large for Westchester. It encompasses a parking lot and a park, and has tons of vendors.
Seating Available: 4/10
Not much seating is available for customers, but there is some park space to sit.
Freshness of Products: 10/10
All produce is visibly fresh and sourced directly from local farms within a 50-mile radius. Vendors enthusiastically share information about their growing practices, and the quality is noticeably superior to supermarket alternatives.
"Vibes": 10/10
This market has friendly vendors, a nice park, is in proximity to the town, and has a live band playing often. Feels like a true farmers market.
Pricing: 7/10
The prices at this market can be high, but are not drastically different from its counterparts. Be prepared to pay New York City prices, but at least they are for local, fresh products.
Overall: 9.5/10
The Pleasantville Farmers Market is my favorite farmers market in Westchester. I recommend it for families and food enthusiasts seeking fresh produce and high-quality specialty foods. It has good vibes and is not too far from Edgemont/Scarsdale.
